Practifi Barbaresco Release Notes

BY Kali Skidelsky
We’re excited to bring you our latest product release, Practifi Barbaresco.
Barbaresco wine, often overshadowed by its Piedmont counterpart Barolo, is a hidden treasure for those who appreciate elegance and finesse. Known for its complex structure, floral aromas and vibrant acidity, Barbaresco offers a refined experience that rewards those who seek out its unique qualities.
Inspired by Barbaresco’s meticulous production process and delicate balance, our latest enhancements ensure Practifi continues to deliver exceptional value while evolving to meet your needs. Just as Barbaresco requires careful aging and attention to detail to achieve its full potential, we’ve crafted this release with precision to enhance your workflows and optimize your experience. Practifi Barbaresco introduces significant improvements in account opening workflows, team management, event organization and email functionality.
Practifi Barbaresco will be available starting from April 28, 2025. If you have any questions or want to learn more, your Client Success Manager will be happy to help. You can view more detailed product release notes here.
Product Enhancements
Open Multiple Pershing Accounts
Our enhanced Pershing new account opening workflow simplifies account creation, making it easier and more efficient for users to open multiple accounts while keeping data in sync between Practifi and Pershing. With a new process type featuring a Flow-built Active Form, users can open accounts simultaneously for the same client. The Active Form automatically populates Contact and Entity data, significantly reducing manual entry. Once completed, data is sent to Pershing NetX360 to create draft accounts, which are then linked back to Practifi for easy tracking.
Efficiently Manage Servicing Teams With Delete Team Member Action
Managing servicing teams is now easier than ever! To better support firms where multiple team members collaborate to serve clients, we’ve introduced a new record action and permission set. Non-admin users can now remove team members directly from Entity records using the new Delete Team Members action. This feature is supported by a new permission set called Practifi – Servicing Team – Delete Members, to simplify team updates without compromising access control. Practifi Administrators can assign the permission set to individual users or add it to a Permission Set Group.
Unify Notes and Files for Events With Attendees
We’ve eliminated duplicate child events in the Upcoming Meetings tile configuration to ensure organizers and attendees access a single, unified event record. Notes and fFiles are now visible to all participants across the Activity Timeline and Upcoming Meetings tile for improved collaboration.
Enhanced Notifications for Active Form and Task Action Alerts
We’ve improved the clarity and readability of success and error messages for Active Form tables and task actions, making it easier to understand what happened if any action is needed.
- Active Form Tables: Error messages provide more context by displaying the table’s purpose and name for failed Create and Delete actions, while success messages list all processed records.
- Task Actions: Success notifications show action type, label and processed record, while failure messages provide action type and label to help with troubleshooting.
Improved Email Functionality
Our email enhancements resolve merge field errors, improve tracking and introduce a daily send limit tracker. Emails with recipient merge fields are now sent successfully via Active Forms. The From and To fields are now correctly populated based on configured settings, avoiding blank entries. Sent emails consistently appear in recipient Activities timelines. A counter displays remaining daily email limits in the Task Completion workflow for better visibility.

Resolved Issues by Product Area
Active Forms
We’ve addressed multiple issues to improve the efficiency of Active Forms. Pinned fields now appear only on the first launch task during process creation, eliminating duplication and ensuring data retention across subsequent tasks. The fFile upload functionality has been enhanced with validation checks to prevent errors caused by deleted files, along with a new inline delete button for easier file management. Execution Rules now support currency fields, enabling automated task actions based on financial data, while Visibility Rules have been updated to trigger correctly for pre-filled picklist values. Additionally, field mapping improvements ensure that only relevant values transfer between tasks, preventing unintended data carryover.
Deliverables
Deliverables are now more intuitive with front-end validation added to Fulfillment Settings, preventing invalid configurations that could disrupt workflows. Deliverable due date calculations have been standardized across all Initial Calculation Basis options, starting from today’s date for consistency and clarity. Frequency-based due dates are now calculated accurately from the deliverable’s creation date, and users can select either Today’s Date or Last Fulfillment Date as reference points when recalculating due dates via the Sync with Services action.
Integrations
Holding and asset names exceeding Salesforce’s 80-character limit previously failed to sync into Practifi via the Black Diamond integration. To address this, we implemented a solution that automatically truncates names to the first 80 characters during synchronization, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency across integrations. This fix mirrors a similar update applied to our Addepar integration in our Graciano release, providing a workaround for Salesforce’s acknowledged limitation.
Miscellaneous
- We resolved CSS styling inconsistencies in Practifi Propel’s Client Book caused by recent Salesforce updates, restoring the intended look and feel.
- For the New Deal and Promote to Prospect actions, users will now see clear, custom warning messages when validation criteria aren’t met, replacing previous generic errors and reducing workflow confusion.
- Checklist items on Task pages have been reformatted for improved readability and efficient use of space, making longer lists easier to scan.
- Additionally, starting a process with no launch tasks now triggers a confirmation message in the Start a Process window, ensuring users receive clear feedback instead of encountering a blank screen.
